John Donne’s poem comes to mind here: No man us an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main…
Few can lay claim to heading out on a personal challenge as if it were something to be accomplished alone. So, with that in mind and to make this journey a bit less selfish, I hope I can be mindful enough to thank all those who help make this happen.
Here is a start of thanks:
Leisa Weld – for being understanding and supportive and so many other things too.
Pearson College Board of Trustees – and in fact everyone at Pearson College for allowing me to take a four-month mini-sabbatical break after completing six years as the College Director.
Mark Bannar-Martin – for serving as Acting College Director during my absence.
Jim Freer – for being a bike geek’s geek. Jim gives great advice and in-depth research on every piece of equipment.
Petr Salaba – for showing me how to create a blog in about fifteen minutes.
Mo and Alan – from Geography of Youth for being an inspiration.
Elton Pope-Lance – from Harris Cyclery who first introduced me to Rivendell Bikes.
David & Vicki – for taking the shipped bike into their home for a while until I could get to Seattle and pedal it into Canada.
I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one today..
