Made it to St John’s Newfoundland today, Wednesday 15 August. The odometer clicked over to 8,000 km. Tonight, a celebration with alumni. Tomorrow, a final dozen or so kilometers to Cape Spear, the easternmost point of land to complete the continental crossing.
And tomorrow too, an interview at Noon, Newfoundland time, on CBC Radio: St. John’s Radio Noon, 12:00pm – 1:30pm.
Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
each time i used to read smaller posts which also clear their motive, and that is also happening with this piece of writing which Iam reading here.

Well Done David,
Congratulations on reaching your first goal i.e. riding coast to coast on your trusty bicycle. A truly fine example of adventure spirit and determination in the face of many challenges en route, I’m sure. We have been following your daily exploits with great interest and you have done a fine job with your narrative and photography. It’s been a pleasure seeing your progress since you left Beaverview RV park in McBride, if you can remember that far back!
Looking forward to seeing your photos of Bonny Scotland next, it will make us feel homesick after 5 years in Canada. Have a safe journey across the pond.
