In the summer of 1977, I cycled from Boston to Vancouver. This photo captures me carrying my bicycle into the water off Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. Little did I know then that in 2012 I would be living and working on Vancouver Island at Pearson College carrying w
ith me the same enthusiasm for personal challenge and cycling that I had more than three decades ago. I fell in love with Canada back then and I decided to fall in love all over again by doing another transcontinental journey.
When I am not riding a bike, I work and play in other ways. Much of that working and playing now is in Switzerland where I am serving as Director General of Ecolint. And even more fun comes from being with my family: Leisa, Nico and Sophie.
